The incidence of diffuse sclerosing variant of papillary thyroid cancer (DSVPTC) is relatively low, it is a uncommon type of papillary thyroid cancer. Current literature mostly focused on its ultrasound appearance, and the reports on its CT features of the disease are rare. Because of no significant tumor mass effect, this disease is easy to be misdiagnosed, so it is essential to improve the understanding of this disease. One case of DSVPTC was diagnosed by CT in Our hospital in 2015. We found that plain and enhanced CT scan can not only offer significant help for DSVPTC diagnosis, but it can also help to understand the tumor anatomy relationship to its surrounding vital organs and tissuese, lymph node metastasis. Thereby it can help to make an exact preoperative assessment and guide surgical resection scope.
