The detection rate of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma has been increasing, with most patients having a favorable prognosis.Traditional treatments such as surgical resection and active surveillance are associated with complications, psychological burden, and risk of disease progression.Ultrasound-guided thermal ablation,as a minimally invasive approach, offers the advantages of both preserving thyroid function and improving quality of life. This consensus, based on the GRADE evidence system and the modified Delphi method, integrates multidisciplinary expert opinions and considerations to systematically address the indications, contraindications, preoperative evaluation, technical procedures, complication management, and postoperative follow-up for thermal ablation in low-risk papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. It aims to promote the standardized and safe application of this technique in China,to provide evidence-based guidance for clinical practice.
